How are you using the device? Do you leave the device plugged in and with the battery in?

Yes mostly, but we take away on weekends where is not plugged in. Does the same.

Generally though in the booster craddle

  Yes have done all that.
  
  Read through posts on another site and they suggested the factory reset but that didn't work
