Switching from MiFi 8800L to Nighthawk M6 Pro
I have a Verizon unlimited data plan and have been using the Jetpack MiFi 8800L for the past three years to accommodate my home internet needs (home office, TV, etc.). I'm in a fairly remote area with spotty mobile signal reliability so I have an external antenna attached to the device. It's working pretty well but there have been a few issues and I've begun the process of upgrading to the NETGEAR Nighthawk M6 Pro (meaning that I've ordered the unlocked device and it's on its way to me). Besides the reliability of the brand and my past experience with NETGEAR, I chose this device because of the option to attach my external antenna. None of the Verizon Inseego upgrade options have this ability.
NETGEAR indicates that the device is certified for use with Verizon and the setup instructions seem to indicate that I simply insert my SIM card into the device and set up my WiFi network. My question is, will I have problems swapping the SIM card from my MiFi 8800L to the M6 Pro? Should it work? If not, what is my solution? Thanks!

When the Nighthawk M6 Pro arrived, I shut down my old Jetpack MiFi 8800L and removed the SIM card. I inserted the SIM card into the M6 Pro, plugged it in, and followed the very simple instructions for setting up the WiFi. Within a few seconds of powering on the device, I received an email from Verizon indicating that they recognized I'd swapped the SIM card. The email provided a link to complete the changes to my account on the Verizon website. My account already showed the correct device model and device ID. Since I already have an unlimited data plan, I simply answered a few questions and received a confirmation of device transfer with no additional charge to my Verizon account. It was one of the technically easiest things I've done. The new device is working great with my Verizon mobile service.

This post implies Verizon needs the Imei number. Might be faster for you to just visit the verizon store with both devices.
Thanks, could be but that post seems to be geared toward a new user who doesn't already have a Verizon plan. I'll try the SIM card swap first and if it gives me trouble, I'll head off to the Verizon store with both devices in hand. Appreciate the response.
