M4100-24G-POE+ - With 2 issues Wont load Firmware or wont retaing VLAN config

Problem with firmware update.

I have the M4100-24G-POE+ that I needed to configure VLAN's.  My first action was to update the firmware to the latest release, but was unable to achieve this via the Management Interface or SFTP.  I have made sure software firewalls aren't blocking file transfer via either method.  In each case I can log in and move around the device conifig, but uploading the new firmware is not possible.

Process followed:

• Log in
• Go to Maint Tab, Download
• Select HTTP Download
• Select Archive
• Browse to the firmware update file via OPEN
• Click Apply
• The status bar reports percentage progress.(uploading nn%)
• It reaches 100% and the HTTP File Download section Page flickers
• The Status bar say either "Waiting for cache" or 'Waiting for 10.0.0.251"
• An error message flashes on screen but not long enough to read it

This isnt the first time this device has exhibited the behaviour of not allowing the upload oif the firmware.  It did this during the warranty period and I was assisted by NetGear Support to address the problem.  I elected to not update the firmware after that in case it created more issues.

Problem with VLAN configuration

The other issue is that the device wont retain aspects of VLAN config.

• I can create VLAN ID's, which are retained in the config (Eg VLAN ID 10 and 66)
• I can select the VLAN ID 66 or 10 when I work through Port Membership
• I can Tag/Untag ports in the Port Membership interface and click to save them
• If I am working in VLAN 66, choose another VLAN ID e.g. VLAN 10 in the Port Membership page, then return to VLAN 66 the port tagging is gone.
