Student learning about managed switches
Hi,
Im a student trying to learn about the settings and the command line on switches and am looking for a switch that has both a command line interface as well as the web interface.
Im looking at the M5300G3 or the GS724T. do these 2 both have the same web interfaces and CLI or is one a cut down versioin?

For two switches type you list, only M5300G3 support managed by Web GUI and CLI command. GS724T only support Web GUI.

Thanks for your response, sorry I had missed it earlier.
I guess the questions this raises is...
1) Is the CLI close to the Cisco CLI commands. Is it easy to learn Cisco after learning the Netgear commands.
2) Are all the M series the same? (ie. they have both CLI and GUI)

1. Not absolutely same with Cisco command;
2. Yes, most of CLI command is same, but maybe there is some little different(such as: different module support different features, for same feature maybe new sample will support more commands).
Anyway, I suggest you to download CLI Manual document from Netgear support website. You can click here to get.
