Ok here's a quick diagram. All the switches involved are using RSTP, BPDU guard enabled where possible (the Switch in the MDF is actually a layer 3 distribution switch actually) on the other switches, ports that aren't trunks are portfast enabled and loopguard on the trunk is enabled. However, on switch B, I had loop guard enabled on its trunk port but it would end up being put in a discarding state after some time. Hopefully this provides some insight.
