Cable Test Failures on GS324TP
I recently purchased the GS324TP (POE+) switch and am having trouble with my POE cameras. I do not own a separate cable tester.
The cameras will randomly recycle, leading me to believe the power has dropped. It isn't multiple cameras at the same time, it's just sporadically one camera drops, a few minutes or hours later another one drops, and so on.
In the management interface, I run the cable test and every single port for the POE devices reports a short. All cables plugged into computers, the router, the printer, etc., test fine and never seem to fail. To remove doubt, I brought two cameras inside and plugged them in using brand new Cat 6 Outdoor rated cables (50 foot) and shorter standard Cat 5 cables (10 foot). Every test reports the same. POE's are all Short and non-poe report Normal.
One port, not plugged into anything, has reported "crossTalk" several times, even when only testing that one port.
I have four brands of cameras, none of which need more then 10 watts. This switch replaced an old Cisco POE switch for 4 of the cameras and some Trendnet 30W injectors for the others.
I have been back and forth with support several times, but thought I would check here for users' opinions and see if you have thoughts. I really don't want to buy a tester. It seems like the switch has some problems and should be replaced but could use some advice.

Welcome to the community! :)
Since you have an ongoing support ticket with NETGEAR Support, I suggest you to set up port mirroring on your GS324TP switch. Select a port(s) as a source port(s) on the GS324TP where the camera(s) is directly connected. Then, select another port as a destination port on the GS324TP where a PC (with Wireshark installed in it) is directly connected. Run Wireshark until the issue occurs. It would be best that Wireshark would capture the packets in the event the issue happens.
Kindly read page 319-321 of the GS324TP user manual here on how to set up port mirroring. You can download Wireshark on this link. As reference guide, check this link I found online on how to use Wireshark.
For the captured packets to be analyzed, kindly attached it to your existing support ticket. Kindly state that this will help in the investigation. You can share here the progress of your support ticket.
