gs116ev2 cannot reset

I made a change to the switch and now cannot find it at 192.168.0.239

The Switch Discovery Tool cannot find it either

I want to factory reset it. According to the manual I need to hold a paperclip in for 2 seconds, but this doesn't seem to work

"Use the end of a paper clip or some other similar object to press and hold the Factory Defaults button on the front panel of the switch for at least two seconds"

I've tried pressing it for longer - 30+ seconds

Any ideas?

    Welcome to the community! 🙂

     

    Since you have tried to factory reset the GS116Ev2, let us try this.  Disconnect the GS116Ev2 from the existing network.  Then, connect a PC directly to any port of the GS116Ev2.  So its just the GS116Ev2 and the PC connected to each other.  Be sure to observe the corresponding port LED light where the PC is connected to, it should lit up.  Then, set a static IP address on the PC (for example: 192.168.0.210).  Then, check if you are able to get replies when you ping the default IP address of the GS116Ev2 which is 192.168.0.239.

     

    Are you able to get replies when you ping the  default IP address of the GS116Ev2 which is 192.168.0.239?  If yes, try to access its web-GUI.
