GS305E Static IP
I'm trying to assign a static IP to my GS305E. Seems it won't allow me to use a 10.1.1.x address, but it will allow a 192.168.x.x address. Why should this matter? It will accept a 10.1.1.x address vi...
Have deployed a different IP subnet here in my new home, since the ISP router defaulted to the ubiquitous 192.168.1.x/24, so took the plunge and disbled the DHCP mode on the GS308E (very similar to your GS305E):
Can't follow you what you want to say with "it does not take" ....
Needless to say, but I'll do it anyway: The default gateway must of course reside in the same IP subnet and IP address range.
Is there a recent or better current firmware to your GS305E switch? Just in case ...
schumaku thanks for your reply and testing. I'm not sure why, but it worked fine this morning when I tried again. I can't explain it, but I'll take it for now. Sorry to waste your time. Oh, my firmware is the latest version, V1.0.0.16.
