GS308EP Port forward dropping out.

Switch & device visible on gateway GUI
Both have reserved IP addresses
Port forward 44158 for device
UPnP disabled or enabled no change

The device LAN IP is ping-able from the LAN or the WLAN on your network?
Switches don't care much about port forwarding. If the device connection does get lost through the switch, so the device can't be reached by IP (testing with a ping for simplicity) after certain time, we could face a hardware issue.
Switch firmware is up2date? https://www.netgear.com/support/product/gs308ep.aspx (GS308EP) resp. https://www.netgear.com/support/product/gs308epp.aspx (GS308EPP), do a factory reset, and reconfigure from scratch.
Switch admin Web UI remains reachable when the issue occurs?
- The device & switch were able to be pinged locally.
Firmware is updated/current.
Rebooted everything twice before the original post.
Switch UI was accessible the entire time.
There was an issue with being unable to ping from an outside source. Only after random amounts of time.
While the switch should be transparent on the network the Gateway/ISP had an issue with it. It's currently working as it should with no changes made to the switch or gateway since last post. Just left it alone all day while at work.
ISP (cough cough comcast cough) was less than helpful but did admit issues with that gateway not playing nice with other devices.
If I have another issue I'll update the post.
