Hey,
Sorry that i didnt reply for a while.
I got it to work on our latest netgear switches from the GS308EP Series.
Still struggling with older types. Those have extra managment vlan option (System \ Managment \ Managment Interfaces) which i can't get right it seems. I'll keep you updated when i find my mistake/error.
Cheers

Heya Philipp,
The GS308EP has - like most smaller "E", "Easy Plus" (former "Plus") models no management VLAN support. the embedded uC does "listen" to any connected IP subnet with untagged IPv4 traffic only.
Correct is that select earlier Smart Managed "T", (new designated "Smart Switches") like the
- GS108Tv2
- GS110TP(v1)
- GS108Tv3
- GS110TPv2
- GS110TPv3
- GS110TPP(v1)
List is based on wally brain, so please compare to the effective product documentation in https://netgear.com/support/
By default, the Management VLAN is configured to VLAN 1 (and all ports are by default configured as for VLAN 1, with PVID 1 - so also known as "access ports" for VLAN 1.
When you consider to configure the Management VLAN to be on a different VLAN, that VLAN"n* must be configured accordingly, either as a local access port for the VLAN"n", or reachable over a trunk connection as a [T]agged VLAN"n".
Does this help to make some progress on your VLAN config knowledge?

-Kurt.
