Hey, I'm new to switching with netgear! As stated in the title: is it possible to make the switch accessible via the trunk port while also being in a managment vlan? The setup so far: Default-VLan 1, Client-VLan 40, Printer 50 and MGMT 10. The switch can be managed with the IP it gets from the default VLAN over the trunk port. But i want it to be in vlan 10. When i change the managment vlan id to 10 the switch isn`t pingable anymore. The switch is set to dhcp and has a reserved ip address in both vlans (1 and 10). I use the GS108T mainly for testing, will need an solution for the M4300-52G ProSAFE 48-port without needing to connect an laptop! I hope my question is understandable, english is not my first language. Thanks in advance! PhilippGS748T sfp port issue
Hi We have recently had a fibre link installed between two buildings and I am trying to connect them up however I am having issues with the switches Both are GS748T, and I am plugging the SFP into 48 with nothing plugged in the copper side of the combo port however I get no light on the switch to acknowledge that the sfp is even plugged in on both switches I have tried 2 lots of different sfps (HP and Ubiquiti) Any other suggestions or ideas? Hello everyone! I just wanted to know, if it is possible to turn off the LEDs of the switch (GS108v4)? I'm planning to use the switch in my Home Cinema enviroment and it would be annoying to see the flashing lights of the switch during network usage such as Netflix. I've read about the ProSafe Plus Switch Utility but it would not support my model to gain access to some sort of configuration page. Any help on this one? Thanks, GSolvedGS1xxE and their PoE equivalents. Getting them an IP using DHCP on a specific vlan.
Hello to anyone taking the time to read this. I have close to a dozen netgear GS1xxE switches at my home and various family member's homes by now and swear by the things. Vlan tagging is a must for our various setups and these switches haven't disapointed yet. However , when it comes to configuring them, the fact one is incapable of selecting the vlan on which the things do their DHCP negotiating forces me to use fixed IP's. In essence this isn't all that bad. But knowing adding this to the firmware isn't something unreasonable to ask I would like to know how I would best go about asking this to Netgear. http://i.imgur.com/JZEvBx4.png http://i.imgur.com/p9evrYY.png Thank you for any reply.Solved
