Netgear 10G switchs slow connection speeds

My setup is a stated
XS748T <-GbE-> Media Adapter <-Fiber-> Media Adapter <-GbE-> XS716E
Yes there is a contractual limit to 1G. We never used the SPF module with the 1G switched and my performance was between 700Mbps and 800Mbps. Now the swiths are upgrated to 10G and i am getting 20Mbps to 30Mbps. I dont have to achive anything 10Gbps speeds, i just want to be able to achive my original speed of 700Mbps and 800Mbps.
Any ideas.
So asking agin: When rebooting the switches, will the performance return to normal 10G speed - except of the link where I assume the 1G limit you talk of is coming from the media converters?
Might be worth to open a ticket with Netgear support anyway.
