UNable to update GS108Ev3
Hello
I've have 2 GS108Ev3 switches for several years with no problems. I went to install the latest firmware but received an error.
I can log into both switches with no problems and check the active ports and firmware versions. I downloaded the latest firmware version and in this case it's GS108Ev3_V2.06.17EN.bin. The current installed version is 2.06.16
When I go to do the update (which has been done several times with no issues) I get a "Firmware Upgrade Incorrect Password" error when I'm already logged into the switch.
I must be missing a step but can't see it. It does this on 2 PC's whether or not I run ProSafe Plus Utility as administrator on Windows 11
Thanks
Steve

Hello Steve,
There is not much of a difference from the earlier 2.06.16 released about a year go to .17 firmware image binary.

Had used the legacy utility for earlier updates, and had operated Windows 11 back then already?
Note: Any references to the ProSAFE Plus Utility (for discovery, operations and firmware updates) and NETGEAR Insight app (for discovery) was removed with the may 2022 update of the Gigabit Ethernet Plus Switches User Manual.
Only the "Download and update the firmware" (p.61 ff. from the UM referred above) using a web browser are the only processes supported.
In case you need to discover the switch IP on your LAN, follow the "Use the NETGEAR Switch Discovery Tool to (discover and) access the switch" as shown on the same UM p.20.

-Kurt
