8-port Switch GS108v4
We have 3 devices plugged into the switch: the modem for internet, a desktop computer, and a gaming console. For some reason the switch will power the desktop OR the console, but not both. What are w...
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too? Buit in router with the modem or no?
To use this switch, you need a "Router" inbetween the modem(if no rotuer built into the modem) to be able to use this switch.
The switch would be connected after the external router. Modem>Router>Switch<>Devices connected to switch.
A router provides connections for more then 1 connected device. A modem only unit only provides connection for 1 device only.
Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the LAN Switch products.
