Cannot Connect GS105 Switch

I am trying to connect my Netgear GS105 network switch. An ethernet cable is connected to my router/modem combo to the switch and the green lights are lit. The yellow cable is connected to my router/...

can you ping from one device to the other?

do the devices get an IP address?

    Yes I can ping and they get an IP address

      The GS105 is a simple unmanaged switch. it doesn't do any packet inspection/blocking/etc. 

      So if your devices are getting a ip address and respond to a ping, the switch is working. 

      I'd be looking at your router

        I am wondering if there is a router setting that is preventing the switch from working. Is there anything particular that is a common issue with router settings that can resolve the issue?
