Connecting two GS105 switches
Hi,
How to connect two GS105 switches. Using an ordinary UTP cable (Class 5) or using a similar cross-over version ?
I read somewhere that switches nowadays can detect whether cross-over is needed and adjust accordingly, but the question is goes that also for the NetGear GS105 low-range switches ?

While there are multiple GS105 hardware versions, we can assume all are supporting Auto-MDI/Auto-MDIX. Ensure your patch cable is properly wired with four pairs. While CAT5 is sufficient, it was superseded by CAT5E as an entry level for 100 MHz connections. And many of the free CAT5 one has got with older equipment have two cable pairs only, limiting the speed of a Gigabit interface to just 100 MB/s (Fast Ethernet).
