GS305 switch NOT supporting SMB communications from a scanner?

I have a GS305 switch which appears to NOT support SMB communication from the Scanner on a Kyocera office printer to a windows 11 machine. Everything else works, but the scanner does not. Scanner is a known good device.

Extremely unlikely we're facing switch issue here.

Lack of any details like model and firmware version of this Kyocera MFP. Looking around the wild Internet, I find users had success using the ubiquitous SMB 1.0/CIFS-Client and SMB 1.0/CIFS-Server by enabling these Windows Features accordingly.

Last but not least, there are several areas requiring actions: Creating the shared folder, creating the share, granting access to a user, granting access to the file system, granting firewall rules...

Honestly: This is something to discuss with Kyocera, not on the Netgear community.

    Hi feltdd01,

    Welcome to the Community!

I agree with schumaku on this one. The switch has nothing to do with the functionality of your 3rd party device. As long as the switch does its job by providing local connection to its connected devices on your network.

    Kind regards,
