Mixed PoE network
I have an Ethernet network with an Ubiquiti Unifi 8 port PoE switch connected to Unifi WAPs around the house. I need to introduce a non-PoE hub to control my heating. That's all the system supplier...
Without an IEEE standard PoE switch feeding the network GS305P, feeding a non-PoE-aware Ethernet of this unknown Lightwave device hub, I can't see any reason why the GS305P and the Lightwave Hub should not behave like yet another standard Gigabit switch.
I just wasn't sure if the non-PoE port on the Netgear GS305P switch was intended for this type of use. I already have GS105 (non-PoE) switches connected to my PoE network.
The heating hub in question uses both Zigbee and Z-wave and has its own power supply. I'm not sure about the reference to Lightwave.
