Have you tried manually configuring the router setting instead of using the same router config? After upgrading the firmware to version 4.3.5-3.

You need to think of firmware versions as 'feature sets'. Generally, across other manufacturers of smb routers, there are bugs in the firmwares that cause problems with features that once worked correctly. Hence, why 'downgrading' to a different firmware version fixes the problem for you.
On our enterprise grade routers, this generally isn't an issue, but enterprise routers can cost 10x the cost of smb routers, so it's a little of 'you get what you pay for'. That being said, we love the realibility and performance of the smb class of routers if you can get a set up that works correctly and consistantly for the appliation as the bang for buck is off the chart.
