Well, I just got my FVS318G and have successfully configured to forward port 3389 to a specific LAN computer that I want to access via RDP from the internet.However, I want to also be able to RDP between all the LAN computers when at home.I have read the forums...googled...experimented with settings...and unfortunately no joy.Any help would be much appreciated!Thanks...p

You have to be running XP pro or Win 7 pro or a OS which supports RDP you need to have a password set on each PC You need to check allow remote connections under Sys Properties if OS has RDP

All windows O/S XP and up will have RDP. Also you will need to be aware that mixing old RDP version and new version can conflict if you do not setup correctly.I would also use IPsec VPN tunnel instead of inbound rules for 3389 from RDP exploitation

Thanks for the quick replies.RDP has been working fine between all computers prior to changing out this router...so no other issues such as you suggested seem likely.I called support and they indicated that this router should have NO impact on local traffic, so I just tried restarting all the other switches/etc on the LAN...still no joy.I guess I will restart all the computers as well and see if that helps.p

Ok...so..the RDP works if I specify the IP address of the LAN computer.So, apparently, I have some issue with the DNS being retained from the old router?!

OP You need to check that your Home connection is still set to home in network sharing and connections. My one win 7 pro 64 has changed when switching routers.

Please post a link which supports your claim. I have yet to find one my self and the one June posted "Important note: Remote desktop is only included in the Professional, Business, or Ultimate versions of Windows"." Home editions do not have remote desktop" So I asked June again to help me and provide a link, He replied with some BS about there's a HACK for it. So I'll ask you to please help and provide a link. If and when you do I'll stand corrected and admit I was wrong, stupid or any other word you two Fanatics choose. Thank again, Bill

You can use Remote Desktop to initiate a connection from any edition of Windows 7.
You can connect to computers running Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate, or Windows 7 Enterprise.
You can't use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to computers running Windows 7 Starter, Windows 7 Home Basic, or Windows 7 Home Premium.
