fvs318g to fvs318gv2 full tunnel, but no internet
Hello All,
I have spent a lot of time trying to troubleshoot the following problem. I would appreciate any ideas/help.
Remote location:
Netgear FVS318Gv1, Lan 192.168.1.1/24, wan static address, no login,
VPN tunnel defined to Local Location
Local Location:
Netgear FVS318Gv2, Lan 192.168.0.1/24, wan dynamic IP provided by ISP from a cable modem
VPN tunnel defined to Remote location.
I am unable to get the Internet traffic in the Remote Location to go out anywhere. Internet traffic does not go through the tunnel either. All pings and tracert fail, except to the Local location through the tunnel. The tunnel works perfectly fine to the address space of Local Network. Ping even to the gateway of the static IP address fails.
The same setup in my Local location using the V2 router works get fine. The Remote location network traffic goes thru the tunnel and everything goes out to the internet.
I am sure I need to provide additional information; please let me know how to complete the problem definition. I am out of 90 days, so Netgear cannot provide the support. If this problem is difficult to diagnose, then I will just buy another v2 device that will give me 90 days of support.
Thank you for any help.
I have purchased a second fvs318gv2 device. Works out of the box with basic configuration. Good use of $120.

Thank you for this information. I have gone throught the document; it describes the steps for the vpn tunnel configuration.
Unfortunately, in my case, the tunnel is working without any issues. It is the traffic that should go out to internet that seems to not go anywhere. Not even a simple ping. I have checked the FW details to make sure that there are not outbound rule to prevent this.
I am leaning towards a V2 box, because it works well on the other end of the tunnel. It would still help to get it going before I am able to deploy the newer box.
