E, yes Port based. Its what I use now since I have too many other toys to upgrade my FVS336Gv2. And yes to your other question as well. It would work for any device that you hook up to the switch; PC, Printer, WAP, another switch, NAS,etc. Since the VLANS are from the switch downward, anything hooked directly up to the FVS318N will be able to see anything in ALL VLANS if you go with Port Based. That is the only quasi downside. I usually keep the router in a separate location so people can't mess with it anyways so I don't really see it as an issue.
