I agree that mostly firmware could be most issues since some of the spec like throughout be limited with hardware in itself
So why is the FVS336G v1 and v2 not preforming at the rated or close to (5% allowable overhead) the rated 60Mbps WAN to LAN specs?
The FVS336G v1 did back in January 2008 with the initial firmware release but hasn't since and each firmware update has only slowed it down more.
Clearly this is not the hardware's fault if it's spec'd WAN to LAN speed works with the first firmware. Not a lot of good that first firmware does with all the bugs that needed to be ironed out.
So why is Netgear still selling these FVS336G claiming that they'll do 60Mbps WAN to LAN when clearly it can't and hasn't for over three years?
Why don't they down rate them to 35Mbps in the specs?
