please help to update my v1.4 FVS318 ProSafe VPN Firewall to v2.4 or ...

I have a very old FVS318 ProSafe VPN Firewall, https://community.netgear.com/t5/VPN-Firewalls/FVS318-ProSafe-VPN-Firewall/m-p/1097609#U1097609. It is still v1.4. I want to upgrade to v2.4. I downloaded, twice,  the v2.4 firmware and tried several times. but I always got the error message: Upload Data Error.... Please make sure your file is correct!!!.

 

 

I also tried the v2.3 and v1.4. I got the same error. I also reset the FIrewall to default. Error is the same. Is there a way to update it?

 

or,

 

if I can setup a home VPN on top of the existing version, I will be happy enough. Anybody can help me?

    Hello oldyoungguy, 

     

    I'd go for a reflash if that's the case. Download the version 1.4 and try loading it to the router, if this will work proceed on version 2.3 and so on.
