Firmware FVS318N_v4.3.5-3.img invalid or corrupted
Trying to update my router to this firmware (FVS318N_v4.3.5-3.img) and both the web gui and the telnet interface keep complaining that the file is invalid or corrupted. Does anyone know how to solve ...

Thanks for the feedback. I suggest you to try to clear the cache of the browser(s) you are using as well as try using other browsers like Firefox in upgrading the firmware via the web-GUI of the FVS318N.

Just tried upgrading the firmware via web-gui in firefox (freshly installed) and as expected it didn't work, said that the firmware was invalid or corrupted. FWIW I also tried installing previous versions, from the very same files that worked in the past, all failed in the same way. I also tried the telnet route, unsuccessfully as well.
Any other suggestions? Is there a way to force installation and bypass all validation?
Thanks!

Kindly try to upgrade the firmware using TFTP. Kindly use the article below as reference guide:
How to upload firmware to a NETGEAR router using TFTP
If ever it still won't work, I suggest you to perform a factory reset on the FVS318N then try upgrade the firmware to v4.3.5-3 via its web-GUI (or telnet). Then after upgrading the firmware, perform another factory reset on the FVS318N then reconfigure everything from scratch in order to start clean using the latest firmware version.

The steps outlined in the article don't work. Specifically, steps 9 and 10 never happen, i.e. the power led always starts as solid green and never flashes, let alone turn orange. In my device, after turning it on, the power led lits green, then *test* led lits orange for 2 seconds, turns off for 1 second, turns on (orange) again for a few seconds, turns off for another second, then turns on (orange) a third time for 30-60 seconds or so, turns off and stays off indefinitely. I've tried uploading the firmware with tftp2.exe at various times during this procedure, they all failed. The app keeps retrying saying "Unable to get responses from the server.". I've made sure that the IP address is correct as I can connect to the web gui eventually through the same IP address. FWIW everything I tried in this thread has been performed after a "factory reset" (which doesn't seem to revert the firmware, just the settings).
Thanks,
Luciano
