SRX5308 VPN to VPN SRX5308 Slow Transfer Speeds over VPN
Hello, I am not sure if I am missing a setting(s) or something, but our file transfers over VPN are slow. Here is what we have -
Main Office
SRX5308 with Firmware 4.3.3-6
Time Warner Internet: 50Mbs x 5Mbs
Satellite Office
SRX5308 with Firmware 4.3.3-6
Time Warner Internet: 50Mbs x 5Mbs
VPN connected to each other. No problems on the connection. Now we have a performance issue transfering files. With the VPN tunnel connected, we are getting 716k per second transfer speed. If we disconnect the VPN (break it) and RDP into a main office PC we can transfer the file at about 4.5Mbs. I would think the VPN would be faster than copy-paste from an RDP session to our local PC.
Can anyone help with Slow VPN transfers with SRX5308 Router-to-Router VPN?

Hi kkontney,
I suggest to use Iperf or Jperf to measure the VPN throughput. Check this link as reference in using Iperf for Bandwidth Testing.
I encourage you to contact NETGEAR Support and open a case with regard to your concern. For testing purposes, NETGEAR Support might request you to have an IPSec VPN Connection configured between both of your SRX5308 to any ProSAFE VPN firewall available in the NETGEAR Support laboratory. On this testing scenario, you may try to transfer a file from your end to NETGEAR Support's end and vice versa in order to test the transfer speed via the VPN tunnel. This will help isolate the problem.
