WAC124
I am using a-WAC124 as a stand alone WAP cabled with CAT6 cable from the Gateway Router.
Connecting via the LAN port to Internet is 100%.
If I try to connect via WiFi I only get Internet on 2.4 Ghz.
Trying to connect with 5Ghz always gives " No internet". So for now I have selected wireless 1 as 2.4 Ghz only.
All the documentation suggests that it should not matter which wireless network is used. Can anyone explain please?

Did this just start?
Has it went on since you've owned it?
What firmware version are you on?
Have you tried a simple factory reset and new install (don't use a backup configuration)?
- Scannes2AspirantHi,
Thanks for response This was new out of the box. When I did the wizard setup, it did a software upgrade (not at work now so can't quote s/w version it loaded) . So I carried on and did the setup as an AP.
I have done several factory resets trying to resolve the problem. This AP doesn't give the facility to give 2.4 and 5 Ghz wireless different names. But I have found that setting wireless to 2.4 Ghz only will work- but if I select both- a device that chooses 5 Ghz doesn't have Internet access. Been round this loop several times.- plemansGuru - Experienced User
I'd either try reinstalling the firmware or downgrading it to see if its a firmware issue.
If those don't help and its new, you can contact netgear support. maybe it is a hardware issue.
To get a hold of support. Click on "MyNetgear" at the top.
Register an account (or login) and then the device.
From there you can start the support process. Keep in mind that its only free for the first 90 days.
