WAX206 - WiFi 2 (or 3) doesn't work with "Allow access to wired ports and Router GUI" Disabled
I am running a Netgear WAX 206 in AP mode, updated to firmware version V1.0.4.0 EU, and i need to create a guest wifi, allowing only the internet connection through wifi without letting the connected devices to see any other devices. I turned on the The wifi 2 and, as default, I left the client isolation as enabled and "Allow access to wired ports and Router GUI" as disabled.
After some testing, i discovered that with "Allow access to wired ports and Router GUI" disabled, the devices are unable to get an IP.
I am quite aknoledged about local internet networks, indeed i am sure this a issue related to the WAX206 instead of a problem with the settings. It is like the connected devices are totally unable to reach any device connected througth the LAN ports, even the DHCP server! In Router mode , the WAX206 is the DHCP server, but in AP mode it is not, thus at least the DHCP srver shoulb be reacheable trough the LAN ports.
On the manual, page 62, is witten: Wireless 2 or Wireless 3: You can enable or disable access to the LAN ports and device UI for either or both of these WiFi networks. By default, such access is disabled.
(If devices that are connected to the LAN ports are set up for communication over
the Internet, WiFi clients of the Wireless 2 or Wireless 3 network might still be able
to reach these devices.). But it looks like it is not true...
There is any solution? maybe do a roll back to an old firmware version?
