WAX206 2.4GHz and 5GHz Communication Fallout
Hello!
I recently purchased two Netgear WAX206 wireless routers to be used as access points at my office. Both are running firmware version V1.0.4.0 US and both are working great as access points thus far. However, I've noticed that devices connected to the 2.4GHz band are only sometimes able to reach devices on the 5GHz band, and vice-versa. They are using different SSID's as well as channels. If I try to reach my wireless printer (2.4GHz) from, say, my phone (5GHz), it times out. However, if I disable and re-enable wireless on my phone, I'm able to reach/connect to the printer for a short amount of time without any issues. Then, after a while (maybe 5-10 minutes? I haven't actually calculated), I am no longer able to reach my printer again. Same happens to any other devices trying to connect to each other from the separate bands.
I do have "Client Isolation" disabled in the 5GHz settings but the 2.4GHz setup doesn't have that option (obviously). Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing? Is this somehow a overlapping issue of some sort? I ordered these routers/AP's to replace some older (non-6) routers to keep up with the times but I never had any issues like this with the older routers. Any hints would be greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Janketh
Yep. I believe that fixed the issue. There are both "Wireless Network Isolation" and "Client Isolation" (5GHz option only?) I had only disabled the "Client Isolation" and completely missed the "Wireless Network Isolation". I'm just a big dummy! Everything is working as expected now. Just ignore me.
I do still find it strange that if I disconnect and reconnect to wireless on devices that I'm able to access things that should be isolated, though. Granted, it's only for a short while, but I'd imagine that this might be a security issue for some? Possibly a bug? If I wasn't able to access anything while isolation was enabled, I wouldn't have been pulling my hair out over a missed settings. Just a thought!
Regards,
Janketh

Actually, I might just be an idiot. I see an additional isolation setting that I've just disabled. I'll test that and see if it fixes the issue(s).
