Thanks all for the replies/suggestions.. the phone is a Samsung S21FE
The region on my device is set to Europe (correct in my case)
The wifi mode on the 5ghz channel is set to “Up to 2400 MBps (80MHz) (11ax, HT80, 1024-QAM)”
I have smart connect disabled but I will enable it and to see if it affects the band choice.
As an aside.. I have a WAX204 AP in a different location in the house (also with smart connect disabled) and it has never had this issue 😕
- schumakuJul 20, 2023Guru - Experienced UserWith smart connect disabled, you have the option to configure two different SSIDs, one for each band. This should make the difference visible easily.
Worst case, do a factory reset and reconfig from scratch. If the 5 Ghz band SSID still does not show up on different wireless clients, don't hesitate to get in touch with the Netgear support via Https://my.netgear.com/
