WAX214 - AX1800 WiFi 6 not putting out correct speeds.

I recently purchased this WAX214 - AX1800 WiFi 6 V. 1 NETGEAR (AP).

The other day I did a speed test to see how the AP was doing with the new fiber that was installed getting . I have a 300mbps package... On ethernet I get about 330mbps, to say the least, coming from a 10-12mbps dsl line, its great.

This new WAX214 - AX1800 WiFi 6 AP I know can reach these speeds no problem especially on 5ghz. My APs gui is reading 1gbps on the LAN. So from the main router to this new AP I am getting the speeds it should be. When I connect to the main router on the other side of the house I get speeds of about 250-275mbps via wifi, on the other hand when connected to the WAX214 - AX1800 WiFi 6 AP I am getting no more then 123mbps.

I played around with the settings, turned off the 2.4ghz and only had 5ghz running at 80mhz , the WAX214 - AX1800 WiFi 6 restarts after settings are changed.... etc I do another speed test and I get 300mbps down and like 250 up.

Not gonna lie I couldn't believe my eyes. I should have left it alone.... I changed the settings back to what the were previously to "test" to make sure this was the best configuration to get the 300mbps+ speeds I should be getting off this thing....

Sadly, when I changed back to the 5ghz setting the speed test now shows only 123mbps now.... so frustrating.

Can someone please elaborate on why my WAX214 - AX1800 WiFi 6 is having trouble putting out the speeds it should be when I connect to the AP on this side of the house even when the settings seem to be correct. I greatly appreciate it! thks for any input

This sounds about right and compares well to your primary router Wi-Fi, isn't it? 8-)

No need to turn off the 2.4 GHz radio - because you might want to have a wider coverage for the garden, garage, ...

Effective achievable throughput depends on many factors. To start with your wireless device, wireless bandwidth allowed to be used, ..

Ensure you have configured the 5 GHz radio to use the 80 MHz bandwidth available:

Would love to promote probably better channel usage - however, the WAX214 channel offerings are limited to the basic four 20 MHz wide channels - the only true frustrating limitation we're facing here:
