WAX630 connection problem after changing management from Insight to local
Hi, I have 3 WAX630 with expired Insight subscription. I want to manage them locally. I log into the web-admin and change the management mode to local. On Save the box says it is applying the cha...

NETGEAR Support How do I remove a device from my Insight account?
Not something I have to do very often (but willing to give a try over the weekend). Following the removal from Insight I'd say the device will be factory reset, the existing config will (or has to be?) removed. The previous Insight config will be fine, the device has to be reconfigured from scratch.
That's about the normal process as far as I remember. Never seen some fancy keys for the device access or the like.
Time permitting,I'll Ifive a try on one of my WAX6xx or WBE7XX.

Hi Kurt!
Thanks for the link. I removed the device from Insight using the local management web interface.
Wether or not this leads to a factory reset of the device, as I could not connect to the device (athough the configured SSID spun up) I did a factory reset. This leads to the creation of the setup wlan, which I could use to connect and configure the device. After that I again could not connect to the WAX…
Thanks for your help, best

...so it does not a factory reset, otherwise the configured SSIDs would be gone among other settings.

This setup wlan does remain active for about 30 minutes from the start-up if wally brain is right.

A little vague for a problem description.
Unable to establish a wireless connection using the previously stored config eg. on a mobile or a notebook? Keep in mind that you have to "forget" the wireless config if changing even minor things, otherwise the connection won't be established.
I'll be online over these days, keeping an open ear of course.
Happy weekend dear Jochen!

-Kurt.
- JhabApr 12, 2025AspirantHi Kurt,
Sorry for being vague… after saving initial setup, the configured wlan is there and can be connected to. But there seems to be no backend connection. I cannot spot the WAX on my net and the existing DHCP server does not issue an IP for the client. So: wlan but no Internet.
Best, and thanks again
Jochen
