Wireless devices unable to get IP address WAX214 — WiFi 6 AX1800 PoE Wireless Access Point

I'm setting up 2 new Access points (WAX214 — WiFi 6 AX1800 PoE Wireless Access Point).

My router has the following config:

IP: 192.168.1.1

DHCP server first ip: 192.168.1.1

DHCP server last ip: 192.168.1.199

Subnet mask:255.255.255.0

My Access point is unable to connect to LAN (No blue leds LAN light) with DHCP client enabled. It has 192.168.0.100 as the devices IP which is in the wrong subnet of the router. I assumed I would not need to configure anything and DHCP would handle everything. If I change to static and set the following:

IP: 192.168.1.200

Gateway IP: 192.168.1.1

The blue LAN light turns on and flashes infrequently. When I connect a wireless device to the AP network it cannot obtain an IP address. What have I done wrong? I have tried resetting the Access point

The AP does not need a valid IP from your LAN to operate in the default config (VLAN 1, Untagged), the default config SSID to become accessible for direct management on the default LAN IP (one by one - not both at the same time).

The LAN link, indicated by the blue LAN LED should be active direct, permitting the router LAN ports or switch it does connect to does provide a link, this should allow the WAX214 to get an IP from the DHCP server.

When you connect a computer to the same router LAN ports, the same should happen.

If this does not happen, I don't think this is a WAX214 issue.

Any special config for the two LAN ports you connect the WAX214 on the router to, like a special VLAN config, a different security zone? What router make or product are we facing here?
