I found the solution.
In the "main" Netgear website, I changed the TFA method to email. It works with the Insight portal too.
Yalla yalla. This feature allowing copy-paste of images is broken since around the beginning of 2026. Store images elsewhere, publicly accessible, a d post the link here.
No idea if the SaaS provider or Netgear with their external directory implementation is in charge. They fighting a long time (and probably still suffer) for customers accessing with dual stack IPv4/IPv6.

I found the solution.
In the "main" Netgear website, I changed the TFA method to email. It works with the Insight portal too.
Key to the Netgear "universe" for any kind of authentication is the MyNetgear Account - is the Netgear User Profile (top right of the Web pages) referred from the "main" netgear.com pages, too.

From these pages, after the login, head to -> Manage Profile (don't be confused with the profile on the Netgear Community); then go to -> Login Settings -> Two Step Verification
It works with the Insight portal too.
Correct, Insight (no matter if we talk of the Web Portal, the iOS reap. Android Apps) is directly linked to your Netgear Profile.
The only "unsharp" point (also to me...) is why the authentication to the Insight Portal is locked to the Email+Password; and does not give the alternate option to choose 2FA [SMS] <-> [Email] - for both the [Login] as well as for the [Log In With One-time Passcode].
