Turn off "Enable Neighbor AP" in Insight ?
Hello all, Does anyone know how to turn off "Enable Neighbor AP" in the Insight UI? I have noticed that enabling this feature causes regular packet loss (1-5 packets every few minutes) on the WA...

Welcome to the community! :)
As far as I have checked, there is no option to turn off "Enable Neighbor AP" on Insight. Let's try this: disconnect the WAC540 from Insight then access its web-GUI. Go to Management > Configuration > Security > Neighbor AP then click the > button to the left of the radio band. Uncheck the "Enable Neighbor AP" check box and click Apply. Afterwards, reconnect the WAC540 back to Insight. The "Enable Neighbor AP" should still be turned off when reconnected back to Insight.
About the packet loss encountered when the "Enable Neighbor AP" is turned on, I suggest you to open a support ticket with NETGEAR Support here at anytime.
About having an option to turn off "Enable Neighbor AP" on Insight, I suggest you to post this as feature request in the Ideas Exchange for Business board here. In this way, the development team can see what feature does Insight users wanted to be added to the functionality on NETGEAR Insight. Just to let you know, the more kudos given by community members to your feature request will help as the development team will be reviewing the post that has the most kudos and will be considered.

Thanks for the reply!
I tried what you proposed before I stared this topic/discussion. What happens is that when you again rejoin Insight, it just reconfigures the device and puts back the "Enable Neighbor AP".
I will followup as you propose with the feature request and support tickets.

WAC and WAX are factory reset and default values are pushed by Insight ...
The UI seems to imply that the level can be changed - the [Cancel] and [Apply] buttons become active if changing away from the default ... but it can't be stored.
Would be great if the enforcement by Insight to the Insight default would be removed, and the "tick" to enable/disable the neighbor scan could be adjusted accordingly.
YeZ - as discussed in the chat, thank you!- schumakuOct 13, 2020Guru - Experienced User
PS. Neighbor checking is always intrusive, there will be always a short downtime in the radio communication. That's why high end business systems come with additional radios or allow to configure dedicated APs for Neighbor scanning only.
