M4250-10G2F and AXM765 Not working

I have a M4300-52G with the 10G copper port 49 connected to a M4250-10G2F with a AXM765 on port 12. I have link lights on the 4300 and it is showing a 10G connection, but at the 4250 I do not have a ...

    Hi Jonny333 ,

Thank you for using M4300 series and M4250 series.  Please review M4250 datasheet page 2, M4250-10G2F-PoE+ has 2 SFP port (1G). Please also review page 28, AXM765 can only do 10G in SFP+ ports.  So AXM765 isn't supported in M4250-10G2F-PoE+. It would be supported in M4250-10G2XF-PoE+ in one  of its SFP+ (10G) ports.

To convert M4250-10G2F-PoE+ SFP (1G) port to copper, you must use AGM734. Of course it will be 1000BASE-T, not 10GBASE-T. So on the other side, AXM765 in one of the SFP+ (10G) ports of your M4300-52G will not negotiate at 1G speed. Despite the M4300 SFP+ port is capable of 10G speed or 1G speed, AXM765 is only 10GBASE-T capable. So you won't get a link, and must use one AGM734 in the SFP+ (10G) port of your M4300 switch too. So the inter-switch will be 1000BASE-T. Same if you use one of the 10GBASE-T ports of our M4300 switch, the connection to the AGM734 in M4250-10G2F-PoE+ will work, but M4300 will negotiate at 1Gbps (1000BASE-T).

If you wanted 10G speed instead, you need a M4250-10G2XF-PoE+, and your AXM765 will work at 10G speed in its SFP+ port.

    I hope this helps!
