Only one SFP+ working on Switch M4250-40G8XF-PoE++
Hi, I have an issue concerning the SFP+ ports on my Switch. My firmware is up to date, but when I plug an SFP+ in the port 41, everything is working fine, but nothing works for the ports 42 to 48...

Thank you for your message. I don't think I can help you with so minimal information, I am sorry. Please export the tech-supoort file(s) either from Engage or the AV UI and send them to us at ProAVDesign@netgear.com
The 8 ports 41-48 are all 10G SFP+ and don't require any configuration for 10G connections.
Now, to establish a connection, the other end must do the same speed and fiber standard. So, we need to review which transceivers or DAC cable you are using on that switch, and on the other end / switch.
With Auto-Trunk and Auto-LAG everything should be fairly automatic at 10G. Maybe there is a problem with unsupported modules. Please send us the site tech support files from your Engage controller and one ProAV Design System Engineer will help you.

Hi,
Thank you for the quick answer. I'm sorry about the lack of information, I will send the tech-support file to the specified mail address.
To make it simple, I got a device connected on port 41, it's working fine, the led is lit, etc. I take the cable and the SFP+ module out of the port 41 and plug it into port 42, and now it doesn't work anymore, no led, nothing.
Everything is in automatic mode, maybe I should do a factory reset and try again. (I just need one VLAN in this configuration, and it is configured with the NDI4 profile)
Best regards,
Maxence
- LaurentMaOct 16, 2024NETGEAR ExpertThank you. I would reconfigure and delete that NDI VLAN. Instead, edit VLAN 1 (default VLAN) and apply the NDI template to it. Maybe your problem was the Management VLAN being down. If you need only one VLAN, you can use the Default VLAN 1 instead and apply the AV template you want to it.
Your Tech Support files will tell better to us, though!- zacsmedleyNov 23, 2024AspirantThe same exact thing on the same model switch happened to me tonight after I updated firmware from .19 to .26. Spent three hours trying to figure out what was wrong. Downgraded firmware and voila, everything worked normal again.
