Unless something was enhanced recently, it's not possible to configure additional 1:1 or many:one (for other networks/LAN IP subnetworks) NAT configs.

Then how can Verizon do it with their routers? I would expect a business class router to be able to handle multiple wan ip addresses on a single wan confg. I can setup my Verizon FIOS Quantum Gateway in such a manner giving me full access to my /29 without any extra equipment needed. I am looking for a router with great coverage wirelessly and providing me a way to add all my external ip addresses.

Well, don't blame the messenger ...of course, I don't disagree with you. By far not a feature limited to Verizon business CPEs ... far away from the US, my preferred SOHO and SMB routers and security appliances have these features virtually for decades.
