How to disable / deactivate Armor on RBR50?
Hey team,
I've enabled Armor on my Orbi RBR50 but decided I no longer wish to use it, is there a way to remove it without needing to factory reset the entire device

Hi Dexter,
I too want to know how to get rid of Netgear's Armor on my router. Can you help?
Thank you,
Tim
- pizza_pabloAug 25, 2019Apprenticetadam, I tried to remove the Armor by factory resetting my router, but because I used the same login / password combo, for the router and the smartphone app as I had, previously, for each, I believe this allowed the Armor to stay on my account.
If I were to try again, I would factory reset the router and uninstall the smartphone app. When setting up the router I would deny the installation of the Armor. When creating a login, I would use a different email address, creating an entirely new account, for both the router and the smartphone app.
If you try this and it works, please post that, here.

One last thing. I tried what pizza_pablo had suggested last year. Doesn't work, at least if you registered your router (which probably is done automagically). Trying a new account/email requires that you enter the Orbi's serial #, and it won't let you register it under a different email address, apparently.

Hi tadam, you can follow the steps on how to disable the Armor feature using the link below. Armor is part of the device firmware and can only be enabled or disabled.
May we know if you are encountering issues with the feature? We'd be happy to help.

Dear Dexter,
You're not helping. Nothing is working to let me view my cameras from my cell phone with the Orbi connected to it. If I go buy a different router and it works I will post it here so everyone can dump their Netgear crap in the garbage.

I sure wish I could turn this stupid thing off!

Come on, folks! This does NOT work! It just takes you to a thank-you-for-your-purchase website to buy the software you want to disable!
Mine says "expired," and I want it to be totally "disabled." It's interfering with my Spectrum TV streaming app. Others who have had this problem concur that DISABLING Armor is what fixes the problems.
So how in hades do you do that?

Hi Durhammer,
If you open up the Orbi app and go to settings > security is there a toggle for you to enable/disable Armor?
Thanks,
Christian
