Netgear Armor Dashboard... is it ever going to work?
It continues to baffle me why I continue to use Netgear. OK, it's the expense of changing and the risks in doing so, i.e. Asus could be worse.
I had a long chat with support about why the MyDevices page on the Armor dashboard refuses to load unless a specific sequence of menu clicks occurs. Unfortunately Netgear support calls from the US rather than local or even remotely local (UK/Europe) so trying to get a call time is difficult and if it's missed your support ticket just gets closed.
My Armor subscription is up for renewal. Under normal circumstances I would say Armor is a good deal. Normal price seems high at £84 but this allows all my devices to be sort of protected with Bitdefender. I say "sort of" because Bitdefender has the same issues as Netgear (a marriage clearly made in hell). When the product doesn't work no amount of communicating with support is going to get it fixed for you. I had 3 tickets open with Bitdefender. All closed, no resolution.
Now for the new monstrosity. I was hoping for an offer before renewing my subscription. I signed on and saw the little Offer link with a lovely notification on it. Great!. Hmm, not great. The Offers page, as with other pages on the Armor dashboard, doesn't load. I get a nice: push-hello.bitdefender.com refused to connect. Well done to both companies for making this trapped users life an expensive nightmare.
All I seem to do is rant at either Netgear or Bitdefender. Maybe they hate me. It's possible. Do they hate anyone else too? Do you see these problems?

- JeffgearVirtuosoI feel your rant is totally justified. It’s been well over a year maybe even 2 years where Armor/Bitdefender doesn’t visually work for iOS devices with the Orbi app - yet the Armor/Bitdefender iOS app functions in web protection mode and provides full device level protection. The Orbi app security tab mis reports the iOS device’s status, rendering this function somewhat useless and misleading with an incorrect security score for your environment.
I reluctantly renewed on the basis a fix must surely be imminent after so many tickets and complaints. I took up a discounted renewal offer from within the Orbi app but fell foul of the issue where I effectively subscribed to an additional licence and got billed for both! I had to raise a ticket to get the original full price renewal refunded. The work around to avoid this apparently is to turn off auto renew before purchasing any other offer for the same subscription. It’s best to keep it off and manually renew.
Meanwhile I noticed a new version of the Orbi app today - I eagerly updated expecting a glorious miracle to occur within the Orbi app experience! Also last week there was apparently a major backend update as there was a notification pop up in the app. Sadly neither updates has resolved the lack of Armor support for iOS devices. I tried deleting my iPhone from the Armor console and reinstalling the app but alas this has not resolved the issue on the new Orbi app version.
