I would reach out to NG support about this and get help. Hopefully something minor.

reaching out to NG means I have to pay right? I would rather buy cheaper router with "some parental control"
this really upsets me. the even wrote "improvement on parental controls" on their release notes for V2.7.xx
don't get me wrong, i really like my orbi. it has stable connection throughout my whole house - I have 2 satellites. but without any parental controls, it's a dangerous tool

Have the same problem. Netgear's "Upgrade" ended up bricking my parental controls. (I.e. none available - and even when I manage to get to the hidden "parental control" page, enabling it there doesn't work anymore.) Not happy with kids having full access to all areas of the internet over the weekend.
So, since I have bought this a long time ago, Netgear thinks it's OK not to provide support when they are bricking my purchased product with their new "upgrade"? Thanks.
What's today's good mesh router? Thinking I need to stay away from Netgear.
