“Something went wrong” when finishing nighthawk Wi-Fi app set up

I got this Nighthawk from our land lord. We had the internet switched to our account. The Technician set up out new modem and internet connection. I factory reset the Nighthawk and used the nighthawk Wi-Fi app to attempt to set it up. I make it through the entire process smoothly then at the last part where it says the “nighthawk is all set up” I tap next and then I get  a “something went wrong” error box with a try again button, the app wont progress any further. It wont resolve. I have tried factory resetting twice now and same result. All the appropriate lights are on for the Centurylink modem and nightly hawk. I can connect to the nighthawk wifi but no internet connection. I have tried different Ethernet cables with no resolve. Please help.

Which Nighthawk? Look for a  model number on the label on the thing.

Nighthawk x10 R9000, the modem is the newest modem from century link not sure what it is exactly but it is the same modem it was working with previously.

Without that information, we are just guess what is happening at your end.

DSL? Cable? Something else? Does it have a row of Ethernet ports on the back?

You seem to be using a mobile app to set things up. (Which one? iOS? Android?)

Have you tried using the browser graphical user interface (GUI) and a wired Ethernet connection

Troubleshooting relies on having accurate step by step details of what you are doing, and where things go wrong.

Manuals are always a good place to start.
