C7800 iOS Support

Hello,

 

I recently upgraded from a Arris / r7000 setup to a C7800 combo.  I am liking the product, however I was a little suprised to see that my nighthawk iOS app no longer worked.  Can you confirm if there is any iOS support for this new unit or is it all browser based?

  • There is a difference between the new Nighthawk App and the older Netgear Genie App.

     

    Netgear is moving people from Netgear to Nighthawk.

     

    Not all devices work with the Nighthawk App. A lot of modems have not moved over.

     

    It takes a firmware update to make the switch.

     

    They have done that with the R7000.

     

    Netgear has no control over firmware updates on cable modems, so it can't force your C7800 to go Nighthawk.

     

    Try using the Genie App.
