Can't login for remote administration

Hello, I have problem with remote login.

In Genie I have set Advanced>Advanced configuration>Remote administration>Enable remote administration ON

Enable remote access for all

Port number 65312

Remote administration address http://<MY WAN IP>:65312

If I enter the url from previous line into wireless connected device browser, I get the login dialog, I fill in admin/<my admin pass> but am not let to admin panel but the login dialog asking me for password reappears again. I verified the admin password is exactly same as admin password stored in Genie.

Connection to Genie CP from wired computer is ok providing correct admin password. I tried more wireless connected devicess and al fail to enter Genie. Using latest firmware WNR612v3/1.0.0.26.

Any help for resolution please?

    Hi icebear1,

    1. Have you tried accessing the device remotely (using a different network/data connection)?

    2. I would like to confirm if the wired computer is within your network or a remote computer.

    3. Have you tried resetting the router?

    4. Have you tried re-flashing the firmware?

    5. Were you able to test other firmware versions?

    Regards,

      Hello DexterJB,

      1) Remote administration not logins from any networks I tried (Netgear's home, 3G, foreign WiFi).
      2) Wired computer is connecting from my home network
      3) I didn't
      4) Yes
      5) I used older firwares which had issues (router needed often restarts to keep going) - downgrading the firmware wouldn't be a solution. There are no alternative firmwares for this router.

Is there a limit for maximum passord length for remote sessions?
I will try reset the router and will report back if the problem has vanished.

        Hi icebear1,

Thank you for the update. It is highly recommended to perform a factory reset when you update the firmware. Please keep us posted.

        Regards,
