Modem/Router Dilemma
I have a NightHawk C7000v2 modem/router that will not work without my AC-750 Smart WiFi Router model R6400 and when I try to update the firmware that is out of date I keep getting "The information you are about to send is not secure" and won't allow me to update. I can't update manually, or I don't think I can,and I'm at wits end to try and figure out what I'm doing wrong or not doing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The C7000 is a modem and built in router, why not just use it for your internet and wifi services? The R6400 is now old and not a great router for use these days.
- The C7000 won't update. Its a modem/router combo device where the firmware is set by the ISP. Nothing to do there.
- What actual firmware is on the R6400? Is there a reason you think you need to update?
- If you have the R6400 connected to the C7000 and the C7000 is in router mode, the R6400 needs to be in access point mode or you're in a double nat. Do you have it setup that way?
