MR60 Access Control with Nighthawk App?

We want to setup Access Control in Whitelist mode (block by default).  This WIFI network is not easily accessible by computer so we want staff to manage it with the app.

The problem is, I've looked everywhere in the app for Access Control and cannot find it.

Is Access Control setting only available via web browser?  If so, this Netgear is getting returned.

  • The MK system is meant for a home setting configuration. Not really meant for business if that's what your looking for.

The NH app is limited in its abilities based on what features you also can subscribe too, i.e. Armor or Smart Parental Controls which if enabled, takes over for Access Controls that are seen on the MRs web page.

    Good Luck.

    • Understood it's not a business product, but we're a non-profit so looking at more affordable options.

Given that access control is on most home routers now, I wouldn't classify that as a business feature.

Armor (in the app) looks to have no configurable settings.  It's a view-only page with security summaries.

Parental Controls (which we would subscribe to in order to filter out usage of unapproved site categories) only allows you to add devices to a profile once connected to the WiFi network.  On a "block all" router, how is that possible?  (I don't think it is).

That leaves us configuring the router with a PC that is not physically connected to said network.  Is that possible?

      • Ha!  Just discovered now that I enabled Parental Controls, that Access Control in the web config now says "Use Access Control in the Nighthwak App" (a clear mis-spelling, not a mistake on my part).  Yet nowhere in the Nighthawk app can I configure Access control.

        Frustrating to say the least.

Parental controls seem to only allow you to add a device to a "kids" profile AFTER it is already freely connected to the WiFi.
