Netgear Genie

Question

Hi all, I installed the netgear genie app. I notice in the Internet tab, if you look at the bottom you see a slider that goes upto 20Mbps and button for "High Traffic Threshold. What are these for exactly? is it to limit the speed of transfers when there is high network transfer? if I want the maximum transfer speed, should I have this box unchecked?

The "High Traffic Threshold" check box will enable the NETGEAR Genie to monitor and notify you whenever it reaches the slider value of Internet traffic that you have set for the upload and/or download.

I didn't notice any difference in the transfer rate when I played around with that feature.  Is there a manual for this software?

If you search Google for Netgear Genie, you will find the software download site. There is also a link for the user manual. This will get you there a little faster.

FYI the manual doesn't tell you what the "high threshold" checkbox does.... does anyone know?
