New Cable Modem

I have obtained a new cable modem to replace an older one. What is the best way to set up the Netgear router for WiFi after I activate the new cable modem connected directly to my PC via the ethernet cable?

    If you already had the router running with the old modem, then all you need to do is connect the cable modem ethernet to the router WAN port.

    Power off both NG router and cable modem for 30 seconds, then power ON the cable modem. Give about 1 minute then power ON the NG router. 

    Review the installation guides for setting up a router. 

    Set up with the Nighthawk app or with a PC and web browser.
