Nighthawk App, RAXE500 router, iPhone 16 not compatable

Netgear Technical folks have not been unable to solve the problem I am having.  So, I thought I would give the forum a try.  First, let me say I have rebooted, factory reset, reinstalled the Nighthawk app, RAXE500 router, and two separate iPhone 16s.

Problem #1:  The Nighthawk app device manager will not report correctly the number of devices connected.  It's showing over 64 devices now, of which only 32 are actual devices connected to my RAXE500 router, the rest are historical connections from the past

Problem #2:  The Nighthawk app device manager will not report connection type (wired/wifi), and/or connection speed.

Problem #3:  The Nighthawk app device manager showed that all 64 devices (connected and/or not connected) where randomly blocked.  Restarting the Nighthawk app and rebooting the RAXE500 router seems to fix the problem when it happens.

Problem #4:  I am starting to notice loss of connection while on either 2.4 and 5.0 ghz when I am well within router range to include line of sight of approximately 10 feet from router.  This is nuts and a new router less than 90 days old!  This is happening twice a day now and requires a reboot.

A decision has to be made soon!  Do I wait on Netgear to solve these problems or should I just return the RAXE500 router for a full refund?  I don't know if a replacement RAXE500 would be wise or should I switch to another brand?  I've been with Netgear for a long time and would prefer to stay with them, but I am running out of options.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • I recommend you return the unit for a refund and try another unit to see if same thing happens or find something different. The RAXE model has been around for a few years and were not sure if NG is ever going to fixe current outstanding issues with this model. I gave up using it as a router a long time ago and only use it as a wireless client bridge now days.

Can check into NGs RS series which is newer generation of router and Wifi7 supporting.
