Nighthawk App
I spoke to Netgear on the phone and they told me is was some new app update they would be rolling out soon. That was a year ago, so I cant get a clear answer from them.

No "Filter" options at all. Does clicking that goofy symbol open a sub menu?
Or, can this option screen be "pulled up" or scrolled to reveal more options?
Maybe someone on the Forum has an iPhone or iPad and can see how the Nighthawk app works on their system?

Nope. What you saw in the screenshot is all I have. No submenus, nothing to click. I can only sort by "A-Z", "Z-A", or "Status", which is crazy unhelpful. There is a thread on Reddit that describes the issue exactly here. I've seen this new UI like once or twice, but it never stays around. When I contacted support I was asking them how to get this new UI permanently. They told me it would be rolled out soon, a year ago.
Also, my device list includes roughly 100 devices that are no longer in use. It just keeps them on the list for some reason. Someone that visited my house a year ago will still be on the list unless I delete it manually.

Yes, this is by design. Suppose, for example, you deliberately "Allowed" that visitor's device. (or, you had Access Control set to "Allow", or.... Access Control was not enabled and thus every device is automatically "Allowed".) When the device returns, the routers wants to know how to treat it. It is no longer "new", so does it connect.... or not?)
Even though I have not enabled Access Control, I go in every month or so and clear out those tables.
That Reddit conversation mentions Armor and Parental Controls. Does your system have those features enabled?

No, most of the 100 inactive devices are labeled "Apple". I believe these are the same Apple devices that are connected that refresh network IDs every now and then. It's not that I've had 100 people over, its that Apple refreshes their network IDs occasionally. My opinion is if they are not connected currently, I do not need to see them on my devices list.
The reddit post was mainly for the UI differences. I'm trying to figure out how to get the dark mode, filtered by WiFi band UI permanently, with the toggle buttons. I do have Armor but no parental controls. However this is irrelevant to the issue I am having.
